Crockpot Applesauce

I’m SUCH a huge fan of the crockpot. Who isn’t? I’m also a big fan of supporting local farmers and buying direct. My man and I went cruising around the rural areas, many of which are citrus and apple farmers. We picked up a HUGE box of ripe granny smith apples. They’re the perfect kinda apple for applesauce!

Crockpot Applesauce
~5 cups

12-14 large granny smith apples, ripe! Cored, skinned and chunked
1 c. Water

Set slow cooker on high, add water.
Skin, core and chunk apples.
Add to slow cooker
Cook for about 2.5-3 hours on high. Stir every 30 minutes.
Done when you can stir and it comes out smooth. You could food process if you want or reduce cooking time for a more chunkier texture.
Top with cinnamon or warm and mix with some ice cream.

Or just it it plain by the spoonfuls out of the fridge!
