Carrot Fries

The other week I was inspired by PionnerWoman’s recipe on a naked burger. For some reason, a big juicy BBQ burger salad sounded fabulous.

One…MUST…have fries!

But I wasn’t in the mood for greasy ole’ fries. We did contemplate going down to the local chicken shop and ordering a side of fries. Then I thought…what about carrots?

These fries are awesome. They’re not your typical fried fries. They’re not gonna match-up to BurgerKing (which have better fries than McDonalds), but they do the trick and they are sweet.

Carrot Fries
~1-2 serves

(these are pre-cooked)

3 medium sized carrots, sliced into thin-ish stripes
1 TB olive oil
A good mixed herb seasoning

Preheat oven to 220/400
Cut carrots into thin strips, length-wise of the carrots.
Place them onto a non-stick pan, or waxed/baking paper (less cleanup)
Cover with olive oil, herb sprinkle and salt.

*you could really use any type of seasoning, but the one I did was good*
Roast for about 1 hour, until soft and golden. Stir every 15 minutes

Enjoy with a burger and salad with LOTS of ketchup!

  1. well, NOM! such a good & simple carrot recipe that looks like something the gremlin-children would actually eat. Won’t hold my breath or anything, but I’ll make it for them and see what happens.

    • Nothing kethcup can’t solve šŸ™‚ Yeah Andrew liked them, I liked them as well. You could totally use less oil or even use an oil spray.
